Critical Information

Please Read Before You Proceed

1.) Run Mentors must be the first registrant in their registration group.

If you plan to register a run mentor, complete their registration first and add students later.

2.) Younger Students must be Added to a Run Mentor's Registration

If your student is in 1st grade or younger they can not be registered without registering a Run Mentor first. That Run Mentor is required to run with their young student in all races and 50% of practices.

3.) Running for a Better Oakland has five types of registration:

RBO is powered by Run Mentors!

RBO Run Mentors are volunteers older than 18 years old that want to run alongside students in practices and races or fill other important roles at practice.

Run Mentor Requirements:

  1. Run Mentors must be older than 18 years old.
  2. Run Mentors are also required to complete a free Sexual Abuse Awareness and Reporting Training every two years.
  3. Run Mentors are required to pay $20 to approve and pass a background check once per year. It is critical to RBO that this cost is not a barrier to participation for anybody! Please don’t hesitate to contact RBO if you need financial assistance to cover the cost of your background check.

If you previously registered for an RBO event, please use the email & password from your original registration to recall your information for this event.
