Every RBO runner has their own story — their own race. This fall, we're gathering the community that makes those stories possible for an evening of connection, inspiration, and support for Oakland's youth runners. 

This year, we're celebrating 15 years of Running for a Better Oakland — 15 years of free youth running programs, mentorship, and race-day moments that have shaped thousands of Oakland kids.

Hear from four accomplished athletes and leaders who know what it means to go the extra mile: Magda Boulet, 2008 U.S. Olympic Marathoner and GU Energy Labs President; Alysia Montaño, 3x World Champion and entrepreneur; Cal Calamia, non-binary runner, sports activist, and educator; and Zagdaa Baatar, founder of the Nomadic Adventure Club and 2023 Western States finisher.

We'll also be hosting an auction throughout the evening, with items including race entries, local experiences, and more.

Your support helps send more Oakland K-12 students to the starting line — funding free coaching, running shoes, race entries, and mentorship.
